Steve Priest remembers: "It is a long time ago now I guess but seems yesterday to me. Gary was never really a member of Sweet but was a great man to be on the road with. He has a wonderful Australian sense of humor that I really appreciate. Dry as a bone and totally to the point! "

About the time in Sweet Gary remembers: "What was it like back then working with The Sweet, one of the biggest acts in the peak period time of the music industry ? FANTASTIC. How did they treat me ? GREAT AS ONE OF THE LADS. Were we very naughty boys ? OH YES OF COURSE THANK GOD. I remember on the American tour (jesus I don’t think there was one big act from that time that we didn't tour with) but we always held our own and were never overpowered or outclassed by anyone.. Bob Segars' onstage crew used to call them 'leather lungs' because of the power of the vocals. They would actually have to turn all the mikes down after bobs sound check because of the natural volume going into the mike from sweet vocals."
