Frida Park Studios

The Sweet days

He joined the Sweet in 1989 and after a year or two of touring, they went into Frida Park to record a maxi-single for SPV Records. This comprised 3 tracks, "X-Ray Specs", on which he played the guitar solo, a ballad called "I Don't Want To Say Goodnight" and a version of "Hellraiser" called "Hellraiser '91". He co-produced and engineered the CD, which he took into Horus to mix. An album called "A" followed, also for SPV. The rough mixes in Frida Park turned out so well that Andy Scott asked him to do the final mixes also in Frida Park. The Sweet also did an "on-tour" video for SPV which included a live show recorded at the Capitol in Hannover.  He engineered Glitz Blitz and Hitz in Boundary Row, London, taking the tapes to Frida Park to mix. This album comprised re-recordings of most of Sweet's original 70's hits as authentically as possible. Finally in 1996, he quit the band, to be replaced by Steve Grant and played his last gig as a permanent member at his own wedding! He have since done a few gigs with the band when Steve Grant was unable to make the show and also as a sepciel guest in 2006 !
