Malcom James and The Callers
When Steve was very young he played with Malcom James and The Callers, read the story here.
Question: Steve, did you play with Malcom James and the Callers sometime around '64 with a guy named Ray Thompson ?

Steve: Yes I did and had totally forgotten. I believe he was the keyboard Player whom I thought had gone to Canada. I think it was the same Line up as the Countdowns but with guy on keyboards. We needed a name change we thought. I wish I had a pic of him as he was extremely good looking. I have a feeling we recorded When You Walk By under this name.

Ray: In those early days of Malcom James and the Callers ... I played the organ ...and I remember Steve was an amazing bass player - even then. Also a GREAT singer, with an ability to do harmony in a unique way. We would have been about 14 ... years old .... Our drummer (Eddie) eventually went onto play with Edison Lighthouse ... but I don't know what happened to the other members of the band. Steve was always a good guy ... easy going with a great sense of humour and always cared about music.

Thanks to Ray and Steve and hopefully a photo will turn up soon.
