And here's a review:

My first Sweet gig ever. Several weeks before kick-off I was not talking, thinking or listening to anything else but Sweet. Finally the saturday arrived, finally it was time to go. My parents drove me to the venue. At lot of kids and a lot of parents crowded outside the entrance.

A lot of policemen took care of the heavy traffic and the bus with the fab 4 later on when they left the place.

I hold my yellow ticket firmly in my hands as if I was affraid I might loose it! And no need for that! I still have it.

Inside in the lounge it was time to cue up again. Time to buy posters, scarfs, badges eg. My pocketmoney was soon spent!

A very boring band started the whole show...but all we shouted was of course "WE WANT SWEET". It must have been very difficult for the poor guys in this stupid "old-folks-band" to keep up the warming up spirit with the crowd only waiting for the real thing to come on stage.

It seemed like hours, almost years before they finally left.

Lights on again! More waiting! Lights out! WAUUUUUU...

"The Stripper" began, then the classic film. I didn't take much notice of the film though, because I found it much more interesting to look on the stage, out in the dark behind the gear. I saw Andy standing ready in the left side, the famous red guitar. BANG, smoke and "Hell Raiser".

We all went completely nuts screaming and shouting almost as loud as the heavy raiser-riffs from mr. Scott.

I stood very near the stage front and had a splendid view of every little detail on the huge stage. Brian standing with the back to the audience at first. He was wearing a red leathersuit with a tigerface on the back. Andy his zebra-jacket (the one from topt "Block Buster"). Steve jumping around in a very sparkling purple jumpsuit and behind the big drumkit Mick sat in silverpants. One of the highlights, as I remember, was when Andy, Brian and Steve did "Your not wrong for loving me". The silence from us all. Its almost impossible to imagine almost 2000 teenagers just listening and not shouting. It was before anyone had the idea of lighting up the place with lighters (or perhaps we were all to young to smoke!!!). Of course Mick did his soloact as well. Of course they did "Buster", "Blitz" and a lot of other goodies. A few albumtracks as well.

And then, just as I thought it had started it was all over.

But not without an encore: "Turn it down". Once again: time to get nuts...and so we did. I managed to take five pictures, still looking at them from time to time. The pictures are not that good. Never mind. My memories are!

The Sweet did a great show and I was lucky enough to see them again in 76. Just after they had finished thier US-tour. The show in 76 was to be even more fantastic, but this 74 gig sticks forever in my mind as being the show that once and for all made me a life-long Sweetfan.

The local paper reviewed the gig. Not many positive words very written. "The Sweet played too loud", they wrote. No they did certainly not! But that was, as we all know, one of the problems Sweet battled in the 70'ties:The f#####g press!
